We are seeking a well-informed, analytically minded professional to join our team as an Energy Analyst & Data Scientist, focusing on Central and South-Eastern Europe (CEE/SEE). In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise and curiosity to help clients turn data into actionable insight on regional energy markets.
This is a unique opportunity for candidates excited about the energy sector, passionate about analytics, and eager to collaborate with a dynamic, international team. While an energy-related academic background is a plus, we welcome applications from anyone with strong quantitative skills and an interest in the field.
Location: Preferred location is Budapest, Hungary, working in a hybrid environment.
A typical day will include
- Analyse CEE and SEE regional energy market data using modern analytics tools and Excel.
- Build and maintain data models and provide market insight using Python and/or Excel VBA.
- Prepare clear, professional consultancy reports and presentations for EnAppSys’ clients (primarily in Word and PowerPoint).
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand business needs and deliver tailored analytical solutions.
- Monitor regional market developments and regulatory trends.
What we are looking for
- University degree (or equivalent) in science, engineering, mathematics, economics, or related fields.
- Highly numerate and analytical, with a business-oriented mindset and attention to detail.
- Experience with coding (Python and/or Excel VBA strongly preferred; any language is advantageous).
- Strong skills in data analysis, modelling, and a passion for learning about energy markets.
- Able to communicate complex findings clearly; confident report writer and presenter.
- Excellent time management; ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive team player with a collaborative attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Interest, studies, or previous experience in energy markets, though not required.
- Fluency in English is a must; any additional languages from the region (Polish, Slovak, Czech, Romanian, Bulgarian, Greek) are a plus, but not a requirement.
- Previous experience with market and regulation monitoring is welcome.
