Executive assistant (Maternity Cover)
A senior Executive Assistant role for someone who thrives in close partnership with a CEO, takes ownership, and keeps momentum in a demanding, decision-driven environment.
We are seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to support our CEO during a maternity cover. This role is suited for someone who understands what it truly means to work in close partnership with a CEO and who is motivated by responsibility, trust and the need to ensure momentum in a demanding environment.
This is not a traditional PA role. Success in this position requires sound judgement, independence and the ability to navigate both strategic priorities and operational details.
The position is a fixed-term maternity cover, expected to run from 15 March 2026 to 31 January 2027.
Role scope and responsibilities
You will act as a trusted partner to the CEO, contributing to focus, structure and execution in a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable workday.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the CEO in managing priorities, time-critical matters and follow-up
Actively participating in executive meetings, ensuring structure, clear decision-making and effective follow-through
Maintaining leadership cadence, including SLT and board meetings.
Acting as a go-to-person regarding the CEO’s time, proactively supporting the organisation by ensuring matters are addressed at the right level and moved forward effectively
Proactively identifying issues, resolving challenges and driving progress when required
Candidate profile
We are looking for a professional who understands the scope and responsibility of this role, is comfortable operating independently, and takes pride in enabling effective leadership.
You:
Take ownership naturally and identify what needs to be done without direction
Exercise sound judgement, make decisions to ensure progress, and know when alignment or approval is required
Work in a structured, efficient and disciplined manner, with strong follow-through
Maintain a holistic perspective and understand how priorities, people and timing intersect
Are comfortable constructively challenging the CEO on priorities and perspectives
Perform well in a role characterized by high trust, high expectations and changing priorities
Experience and practicalities
Relevant experience from a similar Executive Assistant role, or from another senior position involving close collaboration with top management and a high level of responsibility (such as leadership team support, project leadership, coordination or event management)
Ideally 5+ years of relevant experience; candidates with 3+ years and a strong, relevant profile are encouraged to apply
